Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Anantnag in collaboration with Radiant Educational Trust Anantnag today organized a  day long Seminar on Road Safety, here. The seminar was attended by more than 200 students apart from officials of MVD, Traffic and  district Police personnel.  

The thrust of the seminar was to sensitize the students  about the golden rules of Road Safety and the importance of obeying traffic rules and regulations while being on roads.Addressing the galaxy of gathering,  Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Anantnag, Dr Mohammad Zubair Lattoo highlighted the importance of following the 10 Golden Rules.In his Power Point presentation, ARTO Anantnag elaborated the underlying causes of road accidents such as driving without seat belts and helmets, use of cell phones, over speeding and drunk driving.

He said that the purpose of organizing such programmes is to disseminate a message of saving life of their own and others while being on roads and to make them law-abiding citizens of the society and to save precious lives of the people which are being lost due to traffic accidents.

DySP Traffic, Dr Idrees while deliberating on the topic gave insight on the need of adhering to Hon'ble Supreme Court guidelines on School Buses. He directed the school authorities to strictly implement the safety guidelines that need to be followed in school buses.
