Additional District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Ghan Sham Singh today presided over district-level Narco Coordination (NCORD) committee meeting here in the Mini Conference Hall, DC Office Complex.
In attendance were Senior Superintendent of Police, Joginder Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Joginder Singh Jasrotia, Assistant Commissioner Development Dr. Ranjeet Singh Kotwal, and other officers from relevant departments.
During the meeting, the ADDC emphasized the imperative of comprehensive awareness programs aimed at schools, colleges, and youth, stressing the involvement of parents. Seeking detailed information on measures taken to control the drug menace, he directed the concerned to implement a tracking mechanism system and urged the ACD to conduct sensitization programs across different blocks.
The ADDC called upon officers to efficiently utilize all available resources to achieve the collective goal. Discussions covered various aspects of combating drug addiction, including Nasha Mukht Panchayats, identification of hotspots, freezing and attaching property, monitoring victims' accounts, establishing drug de-addiction and rehabilitation centers, implementing tracking mechanisms, and curbing the cultivation of illicit poppy and cannabis in the district.
