IIM Jammu hosts workshop on Women Empowerment

Indian Institute of Management Jammu (IIM), Jammu, organized a workshop on Women Empowerment, featuring Dr. Rashmi Singh, Commissioner, State Taxes Department, as the keynote speaker. The workshop focused on addressing gender stereotyping, gender discrimination and promoting the significant role of women in driving development, in line with the vision outlined by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.

The event was graced by Professor B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, faculty members, officers, staff and students of the institute. Dr. Rashmi Singh, delivered a compelling address on the challenges faced by women and the need to break free from gender stereotypes. Drawing on her extensive experience, she emphasized the importance of Women Lead Development, a concept championed by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, encouraged the participants to challenge stereotypes, embrace diversity and actively support initiatives that promote gender equality.

Professor B.S. Sahay reiterated that Empowering women is not just a societal duty but it is the cornerstone of sustainable progress. At IIM Jammu, we are committed to cultivating leaders who understand the importance of gender equality and actively contribute towards building a future where every individual has equal opportunities to thrive.

Dr. Rashmi Singh’s words resonated with the audience leaving a lasting impact and inspiring a collective commitment towards fostering a more equitable and inclusive community.
