Master Trainers ready to empower Punjab's rural landowners

Punjab is set for a transformative journey with the 'Mera Ghar Mere Naam/SVAMITVA Scheme' as Master Trainers are now fully equipped to drive its success. Under the guidance of Mr. KAP Sinha, Special Chief Secretary (Revenue), the one-day training program was inaugurated by Mr. Keshav Hingonia, Special Secretary Revenue-cum-Mission Director of SVAMITVA to the Government of Punjab, here at MGSIPA.

All the Additional Deputy Commissioners (General) and District Revenue Officers from all the 23 districts of the state participated in this training session. Addressing the participants, Mr. Keshav Hingonia remarked that “SVAMITVA Scheme, which fosters socio-economic development, will further empower rural landowners by granting them property rights."

He said that this initiative has the potential to revolutionize land governance, granting ownership and control over land. With today's training, our Master Trainers have been fully equipped to accelerate the implementation of the scheme, said Mr. Hingonia, adding that our trained Master Trainers have possessed the knowledge for land surveys, mapping and property title issuance, vital for SVAMITVA's success at the grassroots."

He said that the state of Punjab is committed to rural empowerment through transparency, accountability and technology, ensuring benefits reach every household.The training included various sessions of experts of national repute. Mr. Narinder Sangha, Advisor to PLRS detailed the Punjab Abadi Deh Act 2021 and its rules.

Experts from Survey of India elucidated topics like the demarcation of Lal Lakir, drone usage and ground truthing. NIC experts explained the Abadi Deh online portal for data entry to create Record of Rights and Property Cards. During the training session, the experts also answered the queries of the participants.

Notably, Punjab has already achieved significant progress in various fields of the scheme. So far, 6739 drone mapping flights have been completed out of 11,653 notified villages under the scheme, Ground truthing has been completed in 1,633 villages to identify the owners and details of lands falling under the Abadi Deh area, while 15,507 Property Cards have already been generated.
