The Deputy Commissioner's Office Patiala, in a forward-looking move to enhance educational opportunities, organized a pivotal meeting where the Google team, represented by Abhinav Unni (Program Manager at Google), introduced the Google Read Along App. 

This groundbreaking application utilizes cutting-edge artificial intelligence through text-to-speech and voice recognition techniques to assist students in enhancing their reading skills.

Divulging the details Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney said that the meeting, which was attend by key stakeholders in the district's educational and administrative sectors, concluded with a unanimous decision to collaborate on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Patiala administration and Google. 

This partnership aims to launch a pilot project that will evaluate the effectiveness of the Google Read Along App in local schools.The Google Read Along App, designed with the latest advancements in AI technology, presents an exciting opportunity to improve literacy and reading skills among students. 

Its user-friendly interface and interactive features make learning engaging and accessible to students of all ages, Sakshi Sawhney added.Deputy Commissioner said that the upcoming pilot project, a collaborative effort between the Patiala administration and Google, represents a significant step toward integrating modern technology into the education system. 

Through the MoU, both parties are committed to enhancing the learning experience for students in the region and ensuring that they have access to innovative educational tools.She said that this initiative is expected to not only benefit the educational community in Patiala but also serve as a model for similar partnership at the state and the nation level, with the potential to transform the future of education in India.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rurual Development) Anuprita Johal, Civil Surgeon Dr Raminder Kaur, District Education Officer (Secondary) Harinder Kaur, District Education Officer (Elementary) Archna Mahajan, Deputy District Education Officer (Secondary) Ravinder Pal Singh, District Development Fellow (DDF) Amar Bandopadhya, District Epidemiologist Dr Sumit Singh and Representative from the Agriculture Department were also present in the meeting.
