National Lok Adalat Held At District Barnala-Ld. Member Secretary, Pulsa Visited District Courts Barnala

As per the directions of National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi and Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar, National Lok Adalat was organized on 09.09.2023 at District Courts Complex, Barnala. On the day, Sh. Manjinder Singh, Ld. Member Secretary, Punjab State Legal Services Authority visited District Courts Barnala. 

All the Judicial Officers of Sessions Division Barnala accorded a warm welcome to the visiting dignitary. During the visit, Sh. Manjinder Singh, Ld. Member Secretary, PULSA visited each Lok Adalat Bench and interacted with Presiding Officers and Members of benches. He also encourage the litigant parties to settle their cases through the Lok Adalat. 

Sh. B.B.S. Teji, Ld. Chairman, D.L.S.A. has informed that to dispose of all type of Pre-Litigative and Pending cases by compromise, total 06 benches of Sh. Kapil Dev Singla Ld. Addl. District & Sessions Judge-II, Sh. Amit Thind Ld. Principal Judge, Family Court, Ms. Sucheta Ashish Dev Ld. Civil Judge (Sr. Div.), Sh. Munish Garg Ld. Chief Judicial Magistrate, Sh. Anupam Gupta Ld Civil Judge (Jr. Div.) and Sh. Chetan Sharma Ld. Civil Judge (Jr. Div.), Barnala were constituted. 

Sh. B.B.S. Teji, Ld. Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Barnala informed that total 3952 cases were taken up in this National Lok Adalat and out of which 2707 Cases were disposed of and awards of Rs. 4,02,30,600/- were passed. In the National Lok Adalat, the MACT Case which were amicably settled, cheques of Rs.23,50,024/- and Rs.5,81,000/- were handed over to the claimants by Sh. Manjinder Singh, Ld. Member Secretary, PULSA.

In the end, Ld. Member Secretary, Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar informed that there are number of benefits of these National Lok Adalats like speedy disposal of cases, award of Lok Adalat is deemed to be the decree of the Civil Court, no appeal lies against the award of Lok Adalat and further decisions are taken through compromise which leads to peace and tranquility among the parties and society at large, orders regarding refund of entire Court fee are made, decisions are final in nature etc.
