To finalize the preparations for the upcoming Shree Krishan Janmashtami festival, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai, presided over a meeting of officers and civil society members in the Mini Conference Hall, DC Office Complex.
The meeting encompassed comprehensive discussions on various facets of the arrangements, including security and law enforcement, traffic management, provision of drinking water and power supply, sanitation, first aid services, and fire safety.
The Public Health Engineering (PHE) and Power Development Department (PDD) were tasked with guaranteeing an ample supply of drinking water and uninterrupted electricity throughout the festival. CEO Municipality was instructed to lead a sanitation campaign within the town and its surroundings.
The Chief Medical Officer was called upon to establish essential first aid facilities to prevent any unforeseen incidents. Additionally, the Assistant Director of Fire and Emergency Services was directed to deploy fire tenders for safety measures.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of robust security measures, including thorough frisking at the entry and exit points of the temples, as the police department took charge of security arrangements.
Traffic police were mandated to ensure smooth traffic flow in and around Udhampur town and the temple vicinity to avert congestion.She urged all officers to ensure timely implementation of arrangements within their respective departments to facilitate the successful execution of the festival.
