District Health Department Conducts Anti-Dengue Drive Across District

All the senior officials go door-to-door from 9am to 10 am to find mosquito larvae

Stepping up anti-dengue drive, all the senior health officials carried out a vigorous inspection simultaneously from 9 am to 10 am in different parts of the district here today. The purpose of the drive was to give a boost to the checking, spraying and awareness campaign ''Har Shukarwar, Dengu te war" launched by the Punjab Government recently.

Civil surgeon Dr Mahesh Kumar Ahuja and District Epidemiologist Dr Shalinder Kaur said that the district health department has launched a scathing attack on the mosquito that spreads dengue and the cooperation of the people is very much needed to fight the disease.

They added that all the senior health officials will conduct door-to-door surveys every Friday across the district. Notably, health workers visit homes and other places to check coolers, refrigerator trays, pots, empty tires, pots, boxes and other items and if the mosquito larvae are found, first-time violators are given warning and chalan is issued for second-time violation.  

Dengue testing and treatment is available free of cost in government hospitals across the district. For health related information, the health department helpline no. 104 may be contacted any time. 

All the district Program Officers, Senior Medical Officers, Medical Officers and other officials visited their respective areas.

Dengue Symptoms 

Sudden high fever, Severe headaches, Pain behind eyes, Severe joint and muscle pain, Skin rash, Fatigue, Nausea & Vomiting.
