Mission Clean Punjab Launched Across Urban Areas of SAS Nagar District

The state-wide Mission Clean Punjab was formally launched across the urban areas of SAS Nagar district today with a commitment to ensuring cleaner, safer and better-maintained cities and towns for residents. Leading the district-level activities, Deputy Commissioner Ms. Komal Mittal participated in the launch of the mission in the Municipal Council area of Kharar, while MLA Derabassi S. Kuljit Singh Randhawa kickstarted the campaign in Derabassi. 

The mission will be implemented across all Urban Local Bodies of the district in a phased and mission-mode manner. Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that Mission Clean Punjab is a comprehensive initiative aimed at improving civic infrastructure and public services in urban areas. 

The mission will focus on ensuring complete cleanliness of towns and cities, proper functioning of street lights, prompt redressal of sewerage leakages, repair of road potholes and other civic issues affecting the daily lives of citizens. She emphasized that all concerned departments and municipal authorities have been directed to work in close coordination to ensure visible improvements in urban services and public amenities. 

Regular monitoring of field activities will also be undertaken to achieve the objectives of the mission effectively. MLA S. Kuljit Singh Randhawa, while launching the campaign in Derabassi, stated that the initiative reflects the Punjab Government's commitment towards providing clean, healthy and well-maintained urban environments. 

He called upon residents to actively support the campaign and contribute towards keeping their surroundings clean. Local Government Minister S. Harjot Singh Bains also joined the state-level launch of Mission Clean Punjab through online mode. Addressing officials and representatives, he directed all Urban Local Bodies to work with dedication and commitment to make the mission a grand success and ensure tangible improvements in civic services across Punjab.

SDM Kharar Gurmeet Singh, Executive Officer, Municipal Council Kharar, and other officials were also present during the launch activities. The district administration reiterated its commitment to implementing Mission Clean Punjab in letter and spirit and ensuring that all urban local bodies achieve the highest standards of cleanliness, maintenance and citizen service delivery.
