National Deworming Day kick-started at Ganderbal

The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Ganderbal, Mehraj-ud-Din Shah today inaugurated National Deworming Day by administering Deworming drug to children at District Hospital Ganderbal, here.

On the occasion, the ADC asked the CMO to ensure no child is left during the campaign and children who could not be dewormed on National Deworming Day must be administered the drug on Mop-up Day on August 17, 2023.

CMO Ganderbal informed that children aged 1-19 years at schools and anganwadis will be administered Deworming drug (Albendazole) for improved child health, nutritional status, and quality of life.

Pertinently, the facility will be available at 657 Anganwadi centres, 719 schools and 94 health institutions of the district.Others present on the occasion were Chief Medical Officer, MS District Hospital Ganderbal, District Immunization officer and other medical and para medical staff of the hospital.
