NCORD Committee meeting discusses measures to combat drug menace

Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal on Friday presided over a meeting of the District Level NCORD Committee to discuss and review the ongoing drug control measures in the district.During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for a multi-pronged approach to combat the drug menace, including awareness campaigns, intensified law enforcement efforts, and rehabilitation initiatives.

The DC also proposed a 'Chai Pe Charcha' initiative to engage with druggists and raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse. This approach will foster a dialogue between officials and druggists and encourage them to abandon using drugs.

The District Administration is intensifying its awareness campaigns to educate citizens, particularly young citizens, about the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of leading a drug-free life. The DC emphasized that cooperation and collaboration among all stakeholders, are necessary to effectively fight this menace and ensure a drug-free society.

The meeting of the District Level (NCORD) Committee is a testament to the district administration's unwavering commitment to tackling the drug problem in a comprehensive and holistic manner. The proposed initiatives are innovative and creative and will go a long way in creating a drug-free environment in the district.

The meeting was attended by the SSP, Amrit Pal Singh; ADC Rajouri, Rajeev Khajuria; ADC Sunderbani, Vinod Kumar Behnal; ADC Kalakote, Krishan Lal; PO ICDS, Shoket Mehmood Malik; SDM Thanamandi, Shafeeq Mir; ACD, Vijay Kumar; CMO, Dr Rajinder Sharma; CEO Education Sultana kouser and other concerned officers.
