Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the arrangements for the upcoming celebration of Eid ul Adha and Muharram-ul-Harram in the district.

 The DC directed officers to ensure all necessary facilities are put in place including availability of essentials and sacrificial animals on identified locations, better arrangements for water and electricity, sanitation measures and other required facilities on all festive days.

He also directed for making elaborate arrangements of water and electricity, sanitation measures and availability of essential commodities in shia dominated areas during Muharram-ul-Haram days.

The Tehsildars were directed to carry intensive market checking in the areas under their jurisdiction to keep prices under control and prevent overcharging by traders.He also directed for smooth management of traffic on the eve of Eid-ul-Adha across the district especially at all Shrines and mosques where congregational prayers are held.

Health department was instructed for deployment of teams of doctors and paramedics along with ambulances across all prominent locations.The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Mehraj-ud-Din Shah; CMO and officers of Sheep Husbandry, FCS&CA, MC Ganderbal and other concerned.
