As a part of ongoing Yoga Mahotsav celebration, the District Administration Kishtwar, in collaboration with the District Ayush Department, District Youth Services & Sports Office Kishtwar, Kishtwar Developmental Authority, and the Indian Army today organise a captivating and Iconic Pre-Yoga Day session.

The event unfolded against the breathtaking backdrop of Sinthan Maidan, located in the picturesque Chatroo sub-division of Kishtwar district. Situated at an elevation of approximately 12,000 feet, Sinthan Maidan offers stunning views of snow-capped mountains and tranquil pine trees, creating an idyllic setting for the Yoga session.

Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Devansh Yadav graced the occasion as the chief guest and was received by warm welcome. The Pre-Yoga Day session also witnessed the presence of esteemed senior officers from the district, civil administration, police, as well as representatives from the Indian Army. 

The distinguished dignitaries included   ADC Kishtwar/CEO Kishtwar Development Authority,  Inderjeet Singh Parihar, ACR  Varunjeet Singh Charak, SDM Paddar Dr. Rishi Kumar Sharma, SDM Chatroo  Showkat Hayat Matoo, Tehsildar Chatroo  Suman Ji Sharma, District Nodal Officer AYUSH Department, Dr. Vikram Singh Jamwal, SHO Chatroo  Parvaiz Ahmed, Nodal officer AH&WC Dr. Tariq Hussain,EXEn R&B Chatroo ,Warden SC Hostel. 

  The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 200 individuals representing diverse age groups, including children, youth, and seniors besides various departmental staff, all of whom derived immense benefits from the enriching Yoga experience.

The session commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, accompanied by other senior officers, followed by a prayer recitation for the well-being and prosperity of all human beings worldwide.

In his address to the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav, appreciated the AYUSH department and all other stakeholders whose concerted efforts contributed to the resounding success of the event.

He further encouraged everyone to actively engage in the forthcoming International Day of Yoga celebration scheduled for the 21st of June 2023 at Chowgan ground Kishtwar.The Yoga session was co-ordinated by Dr Monica Sharma and Ritu Devi, the expert practitioners from the Ayush Department as per the Yogic protocol, who demonstrated various postures, breathing techniques and meditation practices. 

They also explained the benefits of Yoga in the well being and spiritual alleviation of a person.Participants had the opportunity to experience the profound effects of these practices on their mental and physical well-being during the session.

A free Ayush Health Screening Camp was also held by the Ayush Department besides, complementary medicines and immunity boosters were distributed among the participants, further promoting holistic wellness.The session drew to a close with a vote of thanks delivered by District Nodal Officer AYUSH, Dr. Vikram Singh Jamwal.
