A two-day international conference on ‘Industry Driven Pharmaceutical Education and Research: Current Trends and Prospects 2023’ was organised by the Chandigarh College of Pharmacy(CCP), CGC Landran in collaboration with the Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI). The event was attended by more than 500 delegates.
A souvenir was also released, to mark the occasion. A series of discussions and plenary lectures delivered by industry experts drawn from India and abroad clubbed with paper, oral and poster presentations by participating delegates were the key activities undertaken as a part of this conference.
150-plus papers were also presented. The primary objective of the conference was to discuss the latest advancements made in the area of pharmaceutical research as well as the current trends prevalent in the pharma industry.
It further sought to understand their impact on enhancing the quality of pharmacy education in the country which would help train students in line with the latest industry requirements thereby brightening their career prospects. The dignitaries who graced the event with their presence included the chief guest of day-one, Dr. P.L.Sharma, Professor Emeritus, PGIMER, Chandigarh, the guest of honour, Prof. (Dr.) Dulal Panda, Director, NIPER, Mohali, Dr P.N. Hrisheekesha, Campus Director, CGC Landran, Dr. Gulshan Kumar Bansal, President, APTI Punjab, Dr. Suresh, Secretary, APTI Punjabi among others.
The expert speakers who delivered their thoughts at the conference comprised Dr. Tamas Sohajda, CarboHyde, Hungary, Dr. Narinder Verma, Project Manager – Global External, London, UK, Dr. Neeraj Fuloria, Professor, AIMST, Malaysia , Mr. Kapil Dhiman, Assistant Drug Controller, Himachal Pradesh, Mr. Rajesh Bhalla, Quality Head Manager, Sun Pharma, Dr. Prahalad Singh Mann, Quality compliance Director, Reckitt Benckiser, Dr. R. K. Singh, Vice President, Morepen Laboratories Ltd, Dr. Anil Kumar Sharma, Vice President, Aimil Pharmaceuticals, Dr. Yogeshwar Bachhav and Mr. Vipul Gupta, Head – Regulatory Affairs, Roche Pharmaceuticals.
The event concluded with the felicitation ceremony of the winners of the oral & poster presentations followed by the vote of thanks by Dr Saurabh Sharma, Director-Principal, CCP, CGC Landran. The top three winners of best poster presentation included Karishma Thakur, UIPS, Panjab University, Harshpreet Singh, CCP, CGC Landran and Vansh from GGSCP, Yamunanagar, respectively. Preeti from YB Chauhan College of Pharmacy, Aurangabad and Shalini and Yoghinni both from AIMST University, Malaysia were the top three winners, respectively, of the oral presentation.
