In order to implement the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in its true essence in the district, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Anantnag, Dr S.M Ashraf today convened a meeting of heads of Government institutes and other stakeholders.

The ADC emphasised upon the heads of institutes to ensure that no violation of NEP 2020 is taking place in any of the institutes run by the government or private agencies.Taking strong note of overburden of school bags on innocent children, the ADC said that the books must be as per the prescribed syllabus and as per the rules and provisions of the NEP 2020.

He said while there are guidelines laid down in the NEP 2020 for syllabus, tuition fee, school hours, timings, qualification of teachers, age for admission, curricular activities etc and violation of these specified rules will invite action under law.

Quoting teachers as nation builders, ADC said that it is our moral as well as social duty to provide the better and result oriented education to our future generation.He authorised the Task force committees of the education department to take the necessary and appropriate action against the violators of NEP 2020.

The heads of the institutes put some suggestions before the ADC and threadbare discussions were held for implementing the NEP.The meeting was attended by the Joint Director Education South, CEO Anantnag, principals of institutes, ZEO, lecturers and teachers.
