J&K Sports Council Supports Vollyball Tournament along the IB

A two day vollyball tournament organised by Pindi Charaka Panchayat Committee, Arnia, along the International Border with support from the J&K Sports Council concluded here today.Eighteen teams comprising of players of villages along with International Border participated in the tournament. 

Ricky Vollyball Club emerged as the winner in a keenly fought final by defeating KP Vollyball Club.Ranjeet Kalra,Member J&K Sports Council gave away the trophies to the winners and distributed medals among the players.

Neelam Singh Surpanch Pindi Charaka Panchayat along with Naib Sarpanch Kuldeep Raj and prominent people of the area expressed gratitude to the Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor Sh Manoj Sinha ( President of the J&K Sports Council) for his 'Har Din Khel Sab Ke Liye Khel' Initiative and Secretary Sports Council Ms Nuzzat Gull for helping the organising Committee in the organisation of the Vollyball Tournament on the zero line , International Border Arnia, Sector.

Speaking on the occasion Ranjeet Kalra assured the panchayat office bearers and sports clubs of J&K Sports Council' s support in their future sporting initiatives as well. Kalra also informed the large gathering of enthusiastic sports lovers of the various initiatives being undertaken by the Sports Council especially those undertaken under Hon'ble LG Sh Manoj Sinha's "My Youth My Pride" sports program.

The tournament was organised in the loving memory of Late Sh Rakesh Singh (Sunny) a popular vollyball Player of the area.Late Sh Rakesh Singh"s father Ex serviceman Sh Ram Singh also expressed gratitude to the sports Council and organising committee for organising the tournament in the memory of his son who was a national level player.

" Tournaments like these organised with support from the Sports Council would not only promote talented sportspersons but would also keep the youth away from the menace of drugs," Ram Singh said.

Prominent among those present on the occasion included Kamal Kumar,Tarsem lal Sangra,Prabhat Singh , Kuldeep Singh ( JKP) Ghar Singh,Roop Lal,Sat Paul,Sachan Sharma Sushil Singh Charak Chairman NDA, Bunny Sharma, Karan Singh Bantu and Vicky Kumar.
