Haryana Health and Family Welfare Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that wearing masks will be made mandatory in the state especially in the crowded areas where gathering is expected to be above 100 persons in order to prevent the spread of Covid infection. 

Apart from this, it has been made mandatory for all health workers in the state to wear masks.Sh. Vij was presiding over a meeting with senior officers of the Health Department here today regarding the arrangements and preparations to be made regarding Covid infection.

Sh. Vij stated covid test will be mandatory for patients arriving at the hospital having cough and cold. Apart from this, he said that directions have been given to do genome sequencing of the patients who tested Covid positive. 

**25, 404 covid tests were conducted across the state during the last week - Vij**

He said that at present there are 724 active patients in Haryana but none of them are in the hospital. He informed that 25,404 covid tests were conducted across the state during the last week. 

He said that the first vaccination dose of Covid was administered 103 percent, the second dose by 86 percent, while all the civil surgeon officers of the state have been directed to motivate people to administered the precaution dose. 

**People are advised to follow the Covid protocol to ensure safety – Vij**

The Health Minister said that following covid protocols will help to curb the effect of covid spreading. He advised everyone to follow social distancing, wearing mask for safety.During the meeting, the Health Minister was apprised that on April 10-11, mock drills will be organized at several places of the state. 

Testing, tracing, treatment, team work, tracking and monitoring are being done in the state. Apart from this, instructions have also been issued to all civil surgeons of the state to double the testing. The Minister has been informed that 100 percent testing of SARI, ILI, Flu corner is being done.

The Health Minister was told that XBB.1 and XBB.1.5 variants have been found in the testing so far. On this, the minister directed the officers that along with making adequate arrangement of testing equipment, medicines, emphasis should be laid on vaccination to prevent Covid infection. 

He instructed the officers that high risk people should be vaccinated. Apart from this, a control room should also be set up to help the patients of home isolation so that such patients can be contacted and helped.

**Instructed to prepare SOP regarding 'Do's and Don't' – Vij**

The Health Minister also gave directions to the officers to prepare SOP regarding 'do's and don't'. In the meeting, a presentation was also given regarding Covid-19, in which it was told that 80,208 new Covid cases have been reported globally in the last one week, in which USA, Japan, France, South Korea, Russia have 54.2 percent participation while India has a share of only 3.3 per cent. 

It was informed in the meeting that there are 53 testing labs in the state, out of which 26 are government and 27 private. In addition, there are 18 District Molecular Labs and 4,867 Isolation Beds for Pediatric Patients, 3,704 Oxygen Pediatric Patients Beds, 2,067 ICU Beds, 817 Neo Natal ICU Beds, 1,250 Pediatric ICU Beds, 733 Ventilator Pediatric. Similarly, there are 101 oxygen plants, 907 ventilators, 7,521 oxygen concentrators, and 16,734 oxygen cylinders.

In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary of Health Department, Dr. G. Anupama, Managing Director of Health Mission Dr. Prabhjot Singh, Director of Medical Education Department, Dr. Aditya Dahiya, Director of Health Services Department, Dr. Usha and Dr. V.K. Bansal were present.

After the meeting, In response to the question asked by the mediaperson regarding the bail granted to Rahul Gandhi in defamation case, Sh. Vij stated that if the congress party is dissenting the verdict of the Honourable Court in Rahul Gandhi’s case, which is a clear act of the contempt of court’s order.

He further stated that “party should recall the black days of emergency when 1,10,786 were imprisoned without stating any reason”. During that period people were forcefully sterilized now they are keeping mum on all such shameless acts. 

He added that decision has been given court, if any of our SP-DC has done it, then raise slogans against us. He further said it seems the congress party does not believe in our country’s judiciary system. In response to a question regarding the poster campaign of the Aam Aadmi Party, he said that "Those who does good do not sell".
