NSS Unit of Government Degree College Neeli Nallah, Udhampur today organised Poster Making and Slogan Writing Competition on “World Water Day” under the mission G20 Awareness on the theme “Accelerating the Climate Change to Solve the Water and Sanitation Crisis”.

The competition was followed by an awareness rally on Water Conservation which started from college premises and after passing through Village Neeli Nallah and finally culminated at the college premises. 

About 100 students participated in the rally whereas 15 students participated in the poster making and slogan writing competition depicting their ideas on the theme through the medium of posters and slogans.

Simran Roy, student of Semester 4th scored first position while Roopali Rajput (Semester 4th) and Nittan Sharma (Semester 4th) occupied 2nd and 3rd position in poster making. 

In slogan writing, Neha Sharma (Semester 4th), Suruchi Raina (Semester 6th) and Riya Khajuria (Semester 6th) secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively. While speaking on the occasion, Principal of the college, Prof Hans Raj, talked about the importance of water resources and immense values associated with them. 

He motivated the students to come forward to aware the society to adopt optimum measures for water conservation. He also lauded the efforts of committee members for organising such programs.

The whole event was co-ordinated by Dr Radha Rani, NSS PO Unit. Prof Swati Dutt, Prof Shaista Yasmeen and Manisha Kanchru were the members of the organising committee. Among others, Dr Imtiaz Bhatti, Dr Ranjeeta Langeh,  Shallu Jamoria, Dr Parul Chhibber and Pratibha Heer.
