The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Ganderbal, Mehraj-ud-Din Shah today convened a meeting to review arrangements for the forthcoming Holy Month of Ramadan and Navratra in the district.

Threadbare discussion was held regarding the arrangements to be put in place including availability of essential commodities, uninterrupted power and water supply, sanitation measures, market checking and others.

The ADC directed AD FCS&CA to ensure that sufficient quantity of food grains, LPG Gas and mutton is available to the general public during the month of Ramadan.

To keep prices of essential items under control and to curb overcharging by traders, the ADC directed the concerned to intensify drive against erring traders. 

PDD was directed to ensure uninterrupted  electricity in the month of Ramadan ul Mubarak especially during Sehri and Iftar hours. He also directed Municipal Council Ganderbal to conduct sanitation drive in and around  Mosques and Shrines.

While discussing the arrangements for Navratra, the ADC directed the concerned officers to conduct sanitation drive in and around the Kheer Bhawani shrine besides PDD and Jal Shakti were directed for ensuring power and water supply for devotees.

The meeting was attended by ASP, Feroz Yehya, SDM Kangan, Javaid Ahmad Rather, CMO, CAHO and other concerned officers.
