Twenty Year Old Caught On CCTV, Killed Delivery Agent Over An iPhone In Karnataka

A twenty year old boy named Hemanth Dutt has recently been in the news, accused of murdering a EKart delivery agent as he was not able to pay for the iPhone he ordered. This incident took place on 7 February 2023 at his home in Hassan district of Karnataka. 

According to the reports, Dutt stabbed the Delivery agent Hemanth Naik multiple times when he came to his home to deliver the iPhone he ordered. Dutt stuffed Naik’s body in a sack and kept the body in his house for three days before burning it near a railway track . According to the police , he even bought petrol to burn Naik’s body and destroy all the evidence. The investigation was started by police after Naik’s brother reported him missing.

A video of Dutt is caught on CCTV in which he can be clearly seen travelling towards railway tracks on his two wheeler with Naik’s body in a sack kept in front. He was also seen buying petrol from the petrol pump two days earlier. He took the body on 11 February near a railway bridge, poured kerosene  and burnt it, as per the police. 

Talking about the whole incident, Dutt ordered the iPhone from Flipkart for which he was supposed to pay Rs. 46000. When Naik came to deliver the thephone on 7 February 2023, Dutt asked him to open the box of the phone but Naik refused to open as he told him that if he opened the box then he would not be able to take it back. So Naik asked Dutt to pay for the phone first and then open it. Dutt did not have the money to pay due to which he stabbed Naik.
