DDC Chairperson Ganderbal discusses plan formulation under Area Development, CAPEX Budget for 2023-24

Chairperson, District Development Council (DDC) Ganderbal, Nuzhat Ishfaq today chaired a joint preparatory meeting of Council members and district officers to discuss the formulation of Area Development and District Capex Budget plan for 2023-24.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, CPO, Irfan Giri, BDC Chairpersons, DDC Councilors and heads of line departments. 

At the outset, the ADDC apprised the Council about the guidelines for the formulation of the plans under the District Capex budget 2023-24. The Chairperson stressed upon the DDC members and BDC Chairpersons to formulate the plan as per the approved ceiling conveyed by the Finance department. 

The plan formulation under the Area Development Fund of DDCs, BDCs and PRI grants was also discussed. She asked the members to ensure the formulation of the plan in consultation with Sarpanchs and Panchs and in close coordination with the officers. 

She advised the Council to project technically feasible works/projects which benefit maximum people and could be completed in stipulated time frame. 

Speaking during the meeting, Nuzhat Ishfaq said that Council is committed to ensure equitable development in the district and stressed upon the members to utilize the grants judiciously in high priority sectors and development works must benefit the general public and avoid individual benefit works.
