DDC reviews R-Day arrangements at Udhampur

To finalise necessary arrangements for the smooth celebration of Republic Day function 2023 at District Head Quarter with National enthusiasm and gaiety, a meeting of District Officers of different departments was held today under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Krittika Jyotsna at Mini Conference Hall DC Office Complex.

SSP, Udhampur, Dr Vinod Kumar; Additional District Development Commissioner, Ghan Shyam Singh; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Syed Khan; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Rafiq Ahmed Jaral; Chief Planning Officer, Mudassir Yaqoob Zargar and other District heads of line departments attended the meeting

 Threadbare discussions were held on various arrangements which include seating arrangement, barricading, security, traffic regulation, drinking water and power supply, sanitation, transport, distribution of prizes, Illumination of government buildings, first-aid, PAS, Fire-tenders and refreshment to students participating in the National function were also discussed in the meeting.

It was decided in the meeting that the main function would be held in the Government PG Degree College Boys, where the chief guest would hoist the National flag and take the salute at 9:55 Am. 

The contingents drawn from J&K Police, District Police Line, NCC, CRPF and Home Guard would participate in the march past.  The function would start with the Shehnai Vadan programme in the morning by the Information department.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC asked all officers to put in place all the necessary arrangements well in time for the smooth and enthusiastic celebrations of the National event. 

He called upon the officers and employees of all departments to remain present at the venue, on the day of function. The DC directed the Xens PHE & PWD to ensure seating, barricading and drinking water arrangements, besides Xen PDD was asked to ensure uninterrupted power supply at the function site. 

The Chief Executive Officer, Municipality was asked to maintain cleanliness in the town as well as at the venue. Regarding First aid arrangements, the Chief Medical Officer was directed to ensure the deployment of one ambulance along with a team of Doctors and necessary medicine till the end of function.  

District and Traffic Police would ensure security and traffic management, the DC added. Different committees like Reception Committee, Illumination Committee, etc were also constituted for the successful celebration of the national function. 

DC stressed upon the officers of various departments to celebrate the function with patriotic spirit, make close rapport and coordination between different agencies so that all arrangements required for the conduct of National function are ensured well in time.
