Four Days CBSE National Chess Championship-2023 started at Brookfield International School.  A gala opening ceremony of CBSE National Chess Championship-2023   held at this occasion with great pomp and show. 

This national event inaugurated by Dr. Shaveta, Regional Officer, Chandigarh. While patron Neelam Singla, Director Manav Singla ,Founder Principal of the school  Dr. JK Singh welcomed all the participants.

 From the different states of India and gulf countries more than 85 teams and over 650 participants from all over India and gulf countries participated in the competition. The event commenced with lamp lighting ceremony by Chief Guest .

The flame represents the endeavor of protection and struggle for victory. It was followed by oath taking ceremony in which all the teams took oath that they will be abiding by all the rules that govern the game. 

The National Chess Championship began after the chief guest Dr. Shaveta declared the championship open and welcomed the participating teams.While speaking on this occasion chief guest Dr. Shaveta  said that Chess is a very logical game and it is the man who can reason most logically and profoundly in it that ought to win. 

Playing Chess from an early age helps children to enhance their memory, leading to an improved concentration and academic performance. It also helps children to learn the importance of foresight and planning. 

While sharing the views Director Manav Singla said that Chess is a game that results in transforming a child into a responsible, disciplined, and wise human being.The school choir and Bhangra teams added colours to the occasion with their breath taking and mesmerizing performances.
