Nowshera Forest Division today inaugurated newly created Nav Grah Vatika and Nakshatra Van in the premises of Channi Part temple in Channi Panchayat of Sunderbani Sub Division. 

Block Development Council chairperson Siot, Bal Krishan was the chief guest on the occasion, while Divisional Forest Officer Nowshera Neelima Shah was the guest of honour and Additional Deputy Commissioner Sunderbani Vinod Behnal was the special invitee.

The function was also attended by Chaman Lal Khajuria Pardhan Mandir Committee along with a large number of devotees and general public to see the first of its kind creation conceptualized by the Forest Department.

Speaking on the occasion, the Divisional Forest Officer Nowshera Neelima Shah explained, In Hindu mythology all the Gods and Goddesses are associated with some trees. Shrubs and creepers, similarly all nine planets are believed to control the destiny of a person associated with trees, bushes and grass.

Navgrah Vatika is a garden of nine trees, bushes and grasses, which represent nine planets. These trees are planted in a particular direction to get the benefit of nine planets or grahs so named Navagraha Vatika.

Similarly, Nakshatra Van comprises 27 divisions in which plants and trees linked to Nakshatras are planted in a circular manner.  Additional Deputy Commissioner Sunderbani, Vinod Behnal, appreciated the unique concept of Nowshera Forest Division to conserve nature and ecology religiously. 

He emphasized the importance of a clean and green environment for the overall well being of mankind. Speaking on the occasion, BDC Siot Bal Krishan lauded the efforts of Forest Department for developing a cordial relation between general public and Forest Department which inturn will help in better conservation and protection of natural Forest.   

The Range Forest Officer Sunderbani Rakesh Verma expressed his gratitude to people whose attendance made the event a grand success. He added that these types of entry point activities will help in developing coordination between the Forest Department and local people, which in-turn help in better conservation and protection of Forests.

The whole programme was conducted under the direct supervision of Conservator of Forests West Circle Rajouri, Vivek Verma. The event was coordinated by Block Forest Officer Dharamsal Ved Parkash, Block Forest Officer Devak Rajinder Dev Sharma and Block Forest Officer Sunderbani Rangeel Singh.

The event was organised by Beat Guard Salheri, Bal Raj Raina along with active support of other field staff.
