Awareness programme on PMFME scheme held at Pouni

An awareness programme on PMFME Scheme was conducted at CFC Pouni in Block Pouni in which more than 40 farmers including unemployed youth participated under the guidance of Chief Agriculture Officer and DNO PMFME, Harbans Singh.

The program was inaugurated by District Agriculture Officer, Rajesh Verma in presence of SDAO Reasi, Vinod Khajuria, JAEOs and AEAs. Parkash Singh Sarpanch Mari, Naib Sarpanches Babu Ram, Madan Gopal and PRI Members also participated in the camp.

District Agriculture Officer gave the detailed presentation of the scheme and enjoined upon the youth to set up micro food processing units of Spices grinding as the area is best suited for ginger, turmeric and garlic cultivation, Chilly powder packing and marketing, garlic paste etc as the best alternative to monkey menace affecting the farming of traditional crops in the block. 

He elaborated the eligibility and terms of subsidy, interest and other related details of the scheme. SDAO Reasi also addressed the farmers and elaborated the steps in implementation of the scheme by encouraging the youth of the area. 

JAEO Mukesh Verma and AEA Harmeet Singh also addressed the farmers. PRI members lauded the efforts of Agriculture Department for generating awareness among the youth about the beneficial schemes of the department.
