Commissioner State Taxes Department (STD), Dr. Rashmi Singh today visited the district along with team of senior officers from department under the ongoing Good Governance week-Prashasan Gaon ki Aur.
Additional Commissioner Adm. & Enforcement, Jammu, Namrita Dogra; DC Enforcement Samba, Sanjay Gupta; DC Headquarters State Taxes, Ashima Sher; Assistant Commissioner Technical, Waseem Raja;
Assistant Commissioner Enforcement, Samba, Aijaz Qaiser and STOs of Department accompanied the Commissioner.
During the visit, Dr. Rashmi inaugurated GST Suvidha Kendra in the office of State Taxes Officer Poonch for the welfare of taxpayers. Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner said that GST Suvidha Kendra will resolve the issues of taxpayers as it is an initiative of the department to reach out to them and address their issues and problems.
The Commissioner on the occasion also interacted with the representatives of traders body in Poonch and Mandi and listened their grievances and demands. While interacting with them, Dr. Rashmi assured them that their genuine issues and demands will be disposed off in timely manner.
Meanwhile, during the visit, the Commissioner also chaired a meeting and reviewed the functioning of the State taxes department in District. During the meeting, Dr. Rashmi took detailed assessment of revenue generation, return compliance as well as disposal of grievances of taxpayers.
While interacting with the officers, the Commissioner emphasized upon them to carry out inspection and enforcement activities across the district for augmentation of revenue.
