Election Authority has announced Summary Revision of Panchayat Electoral Roll 2023 under Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Raj Act, 1989, from 21st of December 2022 to 18th of January 2023.
In this regard, District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO) Doda Vishesh Paul Mahajan convened a meeting here in the conference hall of DC office complex to discuss the Roll out of Summary Revision in the district.
The details of EROs, AEROs and Panchayat Election Booth Officers have been made available on the district website for the convenience of the general public. It was informed that J&K State Election Commission (Election Authority) has decided to undertake the revision of the existing Panchayat Electoral Roll in terms of the powers vested with the Election Authority under Section 38 of J&K Panchayati Raj Act, 1989.
The Roll shall be revised with respect to January1, 2023 as qualifying date. As per schedule, six Special Camps shall be organized at all the polling station locations across the District on Dec 31, 2022 (Saturday), January 1, 2023 (Sunday), January 7, 2023 (Saturday), January 8, 2023 (Sunday), January 14, 2023 (Saturday) and January 15,2023 (Sunday).
All the Panchayat Election Booth Officers (PEBOs) shall remain present in their respective polling station locations with the requisite forms for the guidance of Electors.
Moreover, the concerned AERO (Block Development Officer) will collect all the details of claims and objections received on the day of Special Camps as per the prescribed format and will submit to ERO concerned who will further submit to District Panchayat Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner).
