Director Rural Development Department (RDD) Jammu Mohammad Mumtaz Ali today conducted surprise visit to Nagrota Gujroo, Mandli and Billawar blocks of District Kathua to check the verification of the beneficiaries under PMAY G/Aawas plus  being done by department on a mission mode by holding special  PMAY G Camps.

The Director also inspected a capacity building cum training programme organized under RGSA scheme of RDD at  Panchayat Lakri of Nagrota Gujru. He also visited panchayat Gurah Kalyal of block Mandli and panchayat Dher of block Billawar.

The Director impressed upon all the officials and PRI members to adopt an honest approach while effecting the additions and deletions under PMAY/Aawas.The Director also reviewed the overall progress of the District with regard to PMAY G and Aawas plus at Billawar. 

He enquired from the PRI Members and general public regarding the ongoing verification process under Aawas plus which is underway across the District wef 20.11.22 and shall conclude on 27.11.22.The Director asked the concerned officers to work in a mission mode for the successful implementation of the scheme and ensure that the benefit of the same reach to the last eligible person. 

The Director further said that PMAY is a flagship housing scheme of the Government and the concerned Departments have to play a proactive role in ensuring that the beneficiaries complete constructions in a time bound manner.

The Director was accompanied by BDC Chairperson Billawar Ashok Kumar, ACD Kathua Kishore Singh Katoch, BDO Billawar and BDO Mandli during his visit to the area.
