Vice Chairperson, District Development Council Udhampur, Juhi Manhas Pathania today called for adopting a missionary approach by the line departments and elected PRIs to ensure that all the centrally sponsored schemes as well as programmes and initiatives reach to the last man in the last row.

Addressing a series of meetings under Back to Village' Phase-IV programme at Panchayats Sountha and Bredian, she said benefitting the last man in the last row forms the essence of the Panchayati Raj System.

“Antodaya is the bedrock of the very policy as well as philosophy of the government led by PM Narendra Modi ji”, she said. Highlighting the significance of the Back to Village initiative, she said “It is a wonderful model of panchayati raj whereby the top brass of the government are brought to the doorsteps of the needy and the suffering people. 

This is a sort of inspiration for all of us. We need to ensure that the system is able to deliver the fruits in its letter, spirit, intent as well as purpose.” She was accompanied by Balwan Singh, Chairman BDC Udhampur and  Puran Chand, DDC Udhampur-I. Balwan, who dwelt upon various developmental initiatives embarked in the area during his tenure.

Puran Chand listed day to day issues being faced by the people in the area.  Juhi, along with other dignitaries, conducted inspection of various departmental stalls put up by different departments. She was all praise of the initiatives taken by the departments in these panchayats. 

She suggested further improvements and modifications by virtue of which the schemes and programmes could be made more successful.PRIs and local people demanded a new Health Sub Center at Sountha.

They demanded immediate release of funds earmarked for various schemes under Adarsh Gram Yojana for which the plan has already been sanctioned. They urged the Department of Social Welfare to release the funds sanctioned for different works. 

They further demanded funds for  lane drain work sanctioned in village Bhagpur of Panchayat Jaganoo.People also sought inclusion u/NABARD w.r.t. road from Jaganoo More to Channi More via Simbla Gladh.

The Vice Chairperson called upon the department of Social Welfare to ensure that all the stalled funds be released so that approved/sanctioned projects could be taken up  for early completion.Sushil Kumar, AE and  Nasir Ahmed, Project Manager, DIC Udhampur were the visiting Officers for Panchayat Sountha and Bredian, respectively.  

Project Manager eloquently explained different schemes and subsidies offered by the Industries Department.The visiting officers accompanied by officials of various departments interacted with people and presented their viewpoints.

Mohan Lal, Sarpanch Panchayat Sountha and Parshottam Sharma, Sarpanch Panchayat Bredian and other PRI members of the twin Panchayats also shared their valuable views.
