Additional District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Pawan Kumar today chaired a meeting to discuss and review the arrangements for the Diwali Festival.Among others, ACR, Imran Rashid Kataria; AC FS, Ajeet Singh; Tehsildar Rajouri, Varinder Sharma; ExEn PDD, Hasan Mohammad; ExEn PWD Rajouri, Maqbool Hussain; ExEn Jal Shakti Rajouri, Mushtaq Ahmed; ARTO, Shami Kumar and prominent citizens including Naveen Mahajan; Kewal Sharma and Anshuman Chopra attended the meeting.

The meeting discussed arrangements like security, maintenance of law and order, traffic regulation, drinking water and power supply, sanitation, medicare, checking of rates and quality of eatables besides deployment of fire tenders.

The ADDC asked the concerned officers to work in tandem for the smooth and successful celebration of the Diwali festival in the district.The Jal Shakti and PDD departments were instructed to ensure uninterrupted water and power supply during the festival.

The ADDC also asked the concerned officers from FCS & CA, Legal Metrology and Food Safety Departments to intensify market checking to keep a check on overpricing, profiteering and black-marketing.The Fire and Emergency Department was directed to keep the fire tenders on alert round the clock, while EO MC was directed to ensure cleanliness in the town during the festival.

The Health Department was asked to keep available adequate Medicare facilities for the public to meet any emergency.The meeting also decided to set up stalls for sale of firecrackers at specific sites and maximum number of stalls to be allowed at each identified location keeping in view all the safety measures.
