Laying stress on the need to further inculcate the spirit of old rich culture and heritage among the younger generation, Sanjeev Arora, MP (Rajya Sabha) has stated that there is also a dire need to create awareness among the masses specially the children to protect environment.

Arora being the chief guest, was addressing at the 35th annual prize distribution function namely “Pinnaculum” at Gujranwala Guru Nanak Public School, Civil Lines, Ludhiana today. He added that protecting environment is need of the hour because the industrial and the urban growth has been adversely affecting environment.

He said that life is possible on the earth only if our environment is protected. He motivated people to plant maximum trees and avoid polluting environment including rivers and canals. He said many recent studies have revealed that green environment in surroundings of the hospitals lead to early recovery of the patients.  

Referring to the school management’s demand that they require immediate funds for creating audio-visual infrastructure in the school’s auditorium, Arora announced to release a grant of Rs.10 lakh out of MPLAD Fund. 

He lauded the cultural and other performances of the students specially which highlighted environmental issues and adverse-affects due to misuse of technology and gadgets specially mobiles and social media platforms.

Dr SP Singh President GKEC, Arvinder Singh Honorary Secretary GKEC and Gunmeet Kaur Principal GGN Public School thanked Arora for acceding to their demand by announcing to release a grant worth Rs.10 lakh for upgrading infrastructure in the school.Among others, Puneet Gill DPRO Ludhiana and eminent Author and Nature Artist Advocate Harpreet Sandhu were present on the occasion. 

Interestingly, the function’s chief guest Sanjeev Arora, MP got so much impressed with the students’ performances that when they concluded their last performance on the stage Arora himself went on to the stage to get himself photographed with them. Arora’s this unexpected move, brought cheers on faces of the students and the school management.
