DC reviews Implementation of NGT decisions in Doda district

To review the implementation of directions/ decisions of National Green Tribunal (NGT) on OA number 481/2022,   Deputy Commissioner Doda Vishesh Paul Mahajan, chaired a meeting of all the stakeholders here today.

It was informed in the meeting that use of single use plastic has already been banned in the district by an order issued recently vide number 1448-58/DM/Doda, dated 01/10/2022.Further it was informed that special teams comprising officials of MC Bhaderwah, Forest department Bhaderwah, Pollution Control Board and other concerned have been constituted to ensure that ban on single use plastic is strictly implemented in all the religious places of Bhaderwah Sub District.

On the issue of possibility of damages to flora and fauna due to construction of Chatergalla Kailash Kund Road, it was informed that the road has been allotted but work is not taken up because the forest/ wild life and other necessary clearances are pending. 

It was directed by the chair to all the stakeholders to submit their report along with comments on the construction and possible harm to flora and fauna of the Chatergalla and its adjoining areas.

The meeting was attended by CEO BDA, ACP Doda, DFO Bhaderwah, DIO DIPR Doda, Law Officer, EO MC Doda, Ex En PWD Doda, BDO Bhaderwah, and representatives of DFO Doda and EO MC Thathri.
