Vice Chairperson, DDC Udhampur, Juhi Pathania, today toured several Panchayats of Block Khoon along with the officers of the line departments.She launched the Jal Jeevan Mission from village S.K. Bair. This is the first project of the district which has been launched in line with Modi Sarkar’s resolution of ‘Har Ghar Ko Jal’.
She called upon the officers to ensure that all the sanctioned projects are started timely thereby facilitating provision of tap water to each house and habitation. The inaugurated projects will help in enhancing the quality of Rural life of these villages and also go a long way in fulfilling the vision of Swacch Bharat Mission.
She also inaugurated the solid waste management segregation unit under Swacch Bharat Mission in Panchayat Bilaspur. The said project shall be instrumental in propagating the concept of ‘swatchata’, ‘Swacch Bharat’ and waste management.
While inaugurating the projects, the Vice Chairperson emphasized upon the necessity of proper Sanitation and clean water. She said that in the last eight years SBM has come a long way in achieving universal sanitation coverage especially in the rural areas.
After making India almost open dedication free, the aim has now widened to make interventions for the safe management of solid and liquid waste in villages.While launching Jal Jeevan Mission Pathania, assured the people that after the completion of the project worth Rs 9.50 crore, every household in the vicinity will get clean tap water and the problem concerning the dearth of potable water will be fully eliminated.
During her tour, the Vice Chairperson also listened to the public grievances and assured them for their timely redressal. She also instructed the accompanying officers to work for the upliftment of rural areas and push themselves for the timely completion of various ongoing developmental projects.
Among others, Mohan Lal Sarpanch, Sarpanch Pyt S K.Bair, Manoj Verma Sarpanch Bilaspur, Ramesh Chander Sarpanch Khoon, Kuldeep Singh Ex-Sarpanch, Shiv Ram, Nimarta Bali and officers and officials of various line departments.
