The Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmed, who is also District Election Officer (DEO), today chaired a meeting of officers to review the status of progress of special summary revision (SSR) in the district. 

The meeting discussed various provisions and achievable parameters of SSR and the progress achieved in the district till date.Dr. Owais stressed upon concerned to work in tandem and take concrete steps on maximum registration of the new eligible voters. 

He asked the concerned officers to intensify the efforts for fulfilling all targets of SSR.The officers and officials associated with the SSR were exhorted to work with dedication and devotion to ensure that the exercise is completed within the stipulated period of time with 100 percent enrolment of eligible people who have attained the prescribed age of voting.

He asked the concerned from Govt. Degree colleges to adopt a proper mechanism to enroll all left out students of eligible age at their own level in coordination with AEROs.The DEO directed Dy.DEO, EROs and AEROs to gear up BLOs of their respective areas for the purpose.

He also stressed on enhanced awareness activities under SVEEP and directed EROs, AEROs to coordinate with Dy.DEO and College authorities of the district for organizing Registration Camps, intensified SVEEP activities and to conduct door to door surveys.

The meeting was attended by DPO Bandipora, Mohd Ashraf Hakak; ACR Bandipora, SDM Sumbal, Dy. CEO, DIO Bandipora, Principal of GDCs, Tehsildars and other concerned. Principal GDC Gurez, SDM Gurez attended through virtual mode.
