Nehru Yuva Kendra Udhampur, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India today organised a series of activities related to the celebration of “Poshan Maah”.

The National Youth Volunteers are continuously visiting Anganwadi Centres and making the parents aware about the importance of a balanced diet for better immunity of their children.

To ensure community mobilization and bolster people’s participation, the rural youth clubs are going door to door to celebrate this crucial month.The youth volunteers are carrying out the activities to spread the message of holistic nutrition throughout the month to ensure a healthier future for women and children. 

This year the “Rashtriya Poshan Maah” is aimed at converting Jan Andolan into Jan Bhagidari to fulfill the Prime Minister's vision of a Suposhit Bharat.In Block Narsoo, NYV Anu Radha visited many prominent locations and pasted Posters to highlight the issues related to malnutrition in women and children.

NYV Ansuya Sharma distributed the Iron Folic acid tablets among young girls that are most prone to Iron deficiency  in Block Khoon.Similarly, NYC Pooja Devi visited Anganwadi centres in Basantgarh and educated the parents about the importance of Vitamins and their sources.

In Ramnagar and Majalta Blocks, the youth volunteers are organizing poster making and painting competitions to address the issues of malnutrition among adolescents.

Wall writings are being done at prominent locations of Block Chenani to educate the people about the importance of timely vaccination of their children. These activities will continue till 30th September in a mission mode across the district.
