DDC Rajouri reviews progress on widening of Rajouri-Thanamandi road

District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today chaired a meeting of the concerned officers to review the progress on widening of Rajouri - Thanamandi road being executed by the BRO.

OC 58 RCC, Major Manjunath; SDM Thanamandi, Vikas Dhar; AC Defence, Saleem Qureshi; DMO, Naseeb Bajrang; Tehsildar Thanamandi, Sahil Shah, AEE Rajesh, Mr Gaurav from DCIPL pvt Ltd and other concerned officers attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the DDC sought a detailed report about the physical and financial progress on the project and the concerned officer briefed about the same.

Issues regarding the execution of works like Pegg marking, assessment of structures, payment of compensation, demolition of structures where payment has been made and mutation were also discussed threadbare in the meeting.

Discussing the issue of Short term permits for extraction of minor minerals, the DDC said that the timely issuance of the necessary NOCs for short term permits is important to overcome the shortage of construction material and to speed up the pace of projects.

He directed for the demolition of the structures for which the compensation has been paid and asked the concerned departments to assist BRO in clearing the hindrances of culverts and drains.

The concerned officers from the BRO were directed to further expedite progress for completion of the project within the set timeline.He also asked them to maintain quality while executing the work on the project and conduct regular field visits for close monitoring of the progress of the work.
