DC Reasi discusses action plan for Nasha Mukt J&K Campaign

Deputy Commissioner, Reasi Babila Rakhwal today convened a meeting of officers of line departments  to discuss the action plan for month long  Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan in the District.During the meeting, the DC informed the meeting that the Social Welfare Department will be the Nodal Department to carry out various activities during the Campaign. 

The DC directed the Social Welfare Department to ensure active involvement of Anganwadi Workers and Asha Workers in identifying drug abuse victims and their rehabilitation. A pool of volunteers through Education Department, Higher Education Department, Youth Services and Sports Department, Mission Youth, NCC, NYK, NSS, AWWS, ASHAS, Scouts and Guides, Village Defence Committees and Civil Defence shall be created who shall be trained in cascade mode through the master trainers, she added.

 The Rural Development Department was asked to organize  Gram Sabha/Panchayat meetings in coordination with  PRIs/NGOs/Social Activists/ Health & Social Workers for identification of victims of drug abuse.School and Higher Education Departments and ITIs were directed to convene    competitions like Rangoli, debate etc on the theme of drug abuse. 

Taking Nasha Mukt Pledge in morning assembly in all the schools every day, Navchetna programmes in schools through NG0s, besides formation of youth clubs/Yuva Mandals / Sangathans on drugs related activities were also stressed upon. Health Department  was asked  to setting up of Drug De-addiction Rehabilitation Centre in all districts with OPD and IPD facilities,  Lating drugs/medicines being misused by the drug/substance abusers for identification of drug abuse,  Holding regular counseling sessions with Drug addicts while maintaining anonymity, Prioritizing community recovery alongside individual recovery by collective support through medical and counseling services. Department of AYUSH to hold regular Yoga sessions for drug addicts/ de-addicts.

Municipal Council/ Committee  were asked  for spreading the message of Drug Abuse in the locality through mobile vans, Conducting regular checks on the activities of public in parks and informing police related to the cases of drug abuse,  Displaying the message through hoardings/ banners or paintings

Transport Department was asked to ensure active and intense participation of transportt associations in the Campaign besides Awareness generation among Drivers regarding ill effects of drugs. Message displaying regarding ill effects of drugs on Public and Private Transport i.e buses, matadors, trucks etc.

Youth Services and Sports and Mission Youth were directed to ensure during the inaugural session of all sports activities, the participants should be sensitized about the perils of drug abuse and the need to control the menace.As a part of *NASHA MUKT BHARAT ABIYAAN* Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi  Amit Gupta informed that the  District Police Reasi launched Anti Drug Helpline Number *7889876725 and  Conveyed that People Should come forward and share information about drug peddlers even through Whatsapp on this number which is must to save our future generations. He further added that the identity of the informer shall be kept secret.
