Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam today chaired a joint meeting of Revenue and Agriculture officers to review the status of the  enrollment of farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) in the district.

The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Sharma, ACR, Gias-ul-Haq, SDM Banihal, Zahir Abbas, Chief Agriculture Officer,  Dr. Ashwani Kumar, Tehsildars, and several other senior officers were present in the meeting.

The Deputy Commissioner discussed in detail the issues pertaining to the registration of beneficiaries by the field staff for a cent percent saturation of PM Kisan. He directed the CAO to submit tehsil-wise progress report. He asked to identify the left-out beneficiaries and enroll them at the earliest. The concerned departments were asked to activate their field staff to create awareness regarding the scheme.

Under PM-KISAN, landholding farmer families, having cultivable land up to 2 hectares, are provided direct financial support at the rate of Rs. 6,000 per year. This income support is transferred directly into their bank accounts in three equal installments of Rs. 2,000.

The CAO informed the meeting that the process of enrollment has been intensified across the district to complete the enrollment process within the set deadline.
