Member of Parliament and National BJP President Jagat Prakash Nadda, while addressing the largely attended public meeting at Chaugan Maidan Nahan in Sirmaur district to celebrate ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ to commemorate 75 years of freedom of India, said that new chapter of development, progress and prosperity has been written under the strong leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

BJP National President said that the Prime Minister has talked about five promises while addressing the nation from the Red Fort. He said that every Indian must keep these promises for ensuring that the Nation becomes the super power of the world. He said that people of the country must not only fight for their rights, but should also be concerned about their duties. 

He said that he had remained Health Minister of the State as well as the country, but it was under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, that within the nine months two indigenous vaccines against Corona were produced in the country.This was the fittest example of Changing India, under the strong leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he added.

Jagat Prakash Nadda said that apart from providing over 200 crore free vaccines to the people of the country, vaccines were also provided to over 100 other countries of the world, out of which free vaccines were provided to over 20 countries. 

He also appreciated the effort of the State Government in becoming the first State in the country in administering first and second doses of the vaccine against corona virus. He said that this was possible due to the able leadership provided by the Jai Ram Thakur in Himachal Pradesh.  

BJP National President urged the people to differentiate between the right and wrong leadership so that their areas, State and Country could progress and forge in the right direction. He said that Chairman of 9th Finance Commission NKP Salve during the Congress Government at Centre scrapped the special category status to the State. 

He said that the Special Industrial Package to the State provided by the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was also withdrawn by the then Congress Government at Centre. He said that the 90:10 ratio for Central-State share for projects was also restored during the tenure of the BJP.  

Jagat Prakash Nadda said that Ujjwala Yojna of the Centre and Grihini Suvidha Yojna of the state Government have not only ensured women empowerment, but also saved the environment by protecting the cutting of trees. 

He said that PMGSY launched by the BJP Government led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government at Centre proved boon to ensure connectivity in rural areas. He said that over 50 crore people of the country were provided health insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh. 

He said that the State Government has also launched the HIMCARE scheme to include left out people.BJP National President said that the tenure of the previous UPA Government would go down in the annals of the country as the period was full of corruption and nepotism. 

He said that on the other hand the last 8 years of BJP Government has ensured unparalleled development of every part of the country with no scope for corruption. He also appreciated the commitment and hard work being put in by local MLA Dr. Rajiv Bindal for development of his constituency.  

Jagat Prakash Nadda said that Sirmaur district  was a holy land which was not only associated with 10th Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh ji, but was also the seat of Mata Renuka ji and her son Lord Parshuram ji. He also shared his old memories associated with Nahan town on the occasion. 

He said that the district and the Nahan town have undergone sea changes during all these years. He said that a developed Nation was only possible when every State of the country progress and prosper. 

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, while addressing the people on the occasion, said that India was slowly and steadily rejuvenating its old glory and the credit of this goes to the strong leadership provided by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 

He said that on the occasion of 75th years of India’s Independence, being celebrated as “Azadi Ka Amrit Mohautsav, Har Ghar Tiranga campaign was launched. He said that credit of this campaign to arouse a feeling of patriotism goes to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 

He said that it was the fortune of the State that the Prime Minister considers Himachal Pradesh his second home and has visited the State seven times during the present tenure of the State Government. 

The 8 years tenure of the NDA Government was celebrated at the Ridge Shimla, from where the Prime Minister addressed the whole Nation and over 17 lakh people of the country saw this event live, he said.

Jai Ram Thakur said that on the one hand the whole Nation was celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahostav, Himachal Pradesh was also celebrating 75 years of its existence. He said that Founder of Himachal Pradesh and the first Chief Minister of the State Dr Y.S. Parmar, who hails from Sirmaur district laid a sound foundation for development of the State. 

He said that after that all the Chief Ministers made their contributions to ensure that Himachal Pradesh forges ahead on the path of progress and prosperity of the State.  The contribution of hardworking and honest people of the State for the development was also immense, he added.

Chief Minister said that   Himachal Pradesh during these 75 years have made unparalleled progress in the matter of development. He said that there were only 228 kms roads in the State at the time of formation of the State, whereas today the State has over 39,500 kms roads. 

He said that the literacy rate of the State in 1948 was 4.8 per cent, whereas today the literacy rate in the State was over 83 per cent. He said that local MLA Dr. Rajiv Bindal was also concerned about the development of his constituency.

Jai Ram Thakur said that the present State Government broke the tradition of politics of vendetta and vengeance and now it will break the tradition by again coming to power in the State. He said that the previous State Government did not even start a single scheme for welfare of the poor and the downtrodden. 

He said that on the other hand, the present State Government had started schemes such as Sahara Yojna, Shagun Yojna, HIMCARE, Grihini Suvidha Yojna, Mukhyamantri Swablamban Yojna for welfare and betterment of every vulnerable section of the society. 

He said that 50 percent concession in fare was being provided to women in HRTC buses within the State.  He said that not only this, the State Government was also providing 125 units free power to the consumers of the State. 

He said that the opposition was misleading the people of the State by making tall claims and issuing misleading statements with eyes on coming assembly elections. He urged the people to give the full support to break the tradition by again ensuring victory of the BJP in the State. 

Later, the National BJP President and Chief Minister visited the under construction Medical College and Hospital building at Nahan and directed the concerned authorities for ensuring time bound completion of this ambitious project.

 They also visited blood donation camp on 100th birth anniversary of World War-2 veteran late PL Sablok held at Medical College Nahan.Member of Parliament and State BJP President Suresh Kashyap thanked the BJP National BJP President for starting the Ayushman Bharat Yojna during his tenure as Union Health Minister for providing health cover to about 50 crore people of the country. 

He said that it was due to the double engine Governments at the Centre and the State that the Rs 7000 crore Renukaji Dam Project could take-off. He said that, with the wholehearted support of the people, the BJP would surely ensure Mission Repeat in the State by again coming to power in 2022 General Assembly Elections.     

MLA Nahan and former Health Minister Dr. Rajiv Bindal, while welcoming the National BJP President Jagat Prakash Nadda and Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur in his constituency, said that the State was fortunate that today a leader from the State was heading the biggest political party of the world. 

He said that during the tenure of the BJP at Centre, institutes like  IIM and Medical College were coming up in the Sirmaur district. He said that a 300 bedded Medical college and hospital would not only provide medical education to the students of the State, but also provide the best health care facilities to the people of the area. He said that Rs. 250 crore has been provided for construction of this ambitious project, which would be completed soon.

Sirmaur district BJP President Vinay Gupta and Nahan Mandal BJP President Pratap Thakur welcomed the National BJP President and the Chief Minister on the occasion.Health Minister Dr. Rajiv Saizal, Power Minister Sukh Ram Chaudhary,  Co-Incharge State BJP Sanjay Tandon, Vice Chairman State Civil Supplies Corporations Baldev Tomar, OSD to the Chief Minister Shishu Dharma, Chairman State Marketing Board Baldev Bhandari, Chairperson Zila Parishad Seema Kaniyal were present on the occasion among others.
