As a part of ongoing Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav programme to venerate 75 years of India's independence, the Ministry of Power in association District Administration Kishtwar, JPDCL and NHPC is celebrating Bijli Mahotsav under the umbrella of Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavisha-Power@2047.
A grand function was today organised here at village Sohal of Sub-Division Paddar. BDC chairman, Paddar Arpan Singh Rana was the chief guest on the occasion. DDC Councilor Paddar, Hari Krishan Chauhan; Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Sham Lal; SDM Paddar, Dr Rishi Kumar Sharma; HOP DulHasti Power Project, M K Singh; GM Civil Engineering, NHPC, Sharad Jaikar; Ex En JPDCL Altaf Hussain Sheikh besides staff members, local PRIs participated in the event.
Around 500 people from adjoining villages also thronged the event. The programme was managed and closely supervised by Nodal officer Bijli Mahotsav/ SM, HR, NHPC Davinder Koundal.The event started with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the chief guest in presence of other dignitaries.
In his address, the Chief Guest highlighted the importance of electricity besides applauded the efforts of Government and District Administration headed by Deputy Commissioner Ashok Sharma and JPDCL authorities who left no stone unturned in the implementation of several social schemes of the power sector in the area.
Besides, he also applauded the remarkable efforts of field workers of PDD who are providing 24*7 services during odd times in this snow bound area to maintain the Supply of electricity.
Meanwhile, NHPC authorities also threw light on the unprecedented growth in the power sector, besides highlighting the key achievements of the government in the up-gradation of the infrastructure and providing quality electricity in rural and urban areas of India in recent years.
Speaking on the occasion, the ADDC stated that the aim of observing the Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavisha week across India is to highlight the achievements of Government in power sectors and make people aware about the vision power@2047, role and responsibility of people to curb the prevailing electricity thefts and benefits of utilizing the renewable sources of energy etc.
The ADDC Kishtwar further apprised the participants about the achievements of Administration in making efforts for electrifying the remotest and un-electrified villages of district Kishtwar recently.
The major attraction of the event was the Paddri cultural Dance viz. Khar Zath which was highly applauded by all the participants, besides various films on the developmental activities and unprecedented achievements recorded by the central Government in the Power sector were also screened during the event.The programme also witnessed the sharing of experiences by beneficiaries.
