Appointment Letters Handed Over To 41 Surveyors Of Soil And Water Conservation Department By Minister

In a step forward towards providing job to youth of state as per commitment of the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Local Government Minister Dr Inderbir Singh Nijjar today handed over appointment letters to 41 Surveyors/Agriculture Sub Inspectors of Soil and Water Conservation Department.

Addressing the function here at Municipal Bhawan, Sector 35, Dr. Nijjar reiterated the firm commitment made by the Chief Minister to check the brain drain from Punjab by creating new opportunities for the youth, so that they should not go to foreign shores in pursuit of their dreams. 

Congratulating the newly recruited officials, Dr. Nijjar asked them to discharge their duties with utmost dedication, honesty and professional integrity. Describing them as backbone of the department, being directly responsible for planning and execution of soil and water conservation works, the Minister said that they have a huge role to play in development of state.

Addressing the other department officers present on the occasion, minister called upon them to chalk out new programmes and intensify ongoing water conservation works for checking deteriorating ground water level in the state. He called upon them for initiating a mass movement for water conservation in the state.

Addressing to the demand of critical shortage of other staff raised by the department, Minister assured that the State Government’s machinery is tirelessly working on these issues and has already taken necessary steps to fill such posts in a fair and transparent manner, which shall be made shortly.

On the occasion Sh. Saravjit Singh, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary (SWC) congratulated the newly recruited officials and asked them to work sincerely for the welfare of state’s community.Sh. Mohinder Singh Saini, Chief Conservator of Soils while welcoming the new recruits expressed that this will strengthen department’s field level working.
