District Development Commissioner Doda Vikas Sharma today reviewed cases under Forest Right Act (FRA) and progress made in the development of Water Bodies (Amrit Sarovar), at a meeting with concerned officers here in his office at DC office complex.

The DC asked ACD to start work for the immediate restoration/ rejuvenation of the existing water bodies and construction of new ponds at the identified water bodies under MGNREGA. It is pertinent to mention here that the objective of Mission Amrit Sarovar is construction/development of at least 75 Amrit Sarovar (ponds) in every district.

Besides, the progress with regard to FRA claims of Individuals and Community were reviewed by the Chair and directions were issued to the Forest Department to assess the reasons for the pendency of FRA cases at FRC Level. 

The department was asked  to verify the eligible genuine FRA cases within 15 days and submit the same to the Sub Divisional level Committee for its assessment and comments.Meeting was attended by ACR Doda, DFO Forest Div Bhadarwah, CPO Doda, Range Officer Siraj Doda and Range Officer Marmat.
