NRLM: 3200 SHGs active in Rajouri; 1500 linked with banks

District Rajouri has 3200 active Self Help Groups of which 1500 have been linked with different banks.The information was given at a meeting chaired by District Development Commissioner, Vikas Kundal today to review the progress made under National Rural Livelihood Mission in the district.

Officers who attended the meeting included  CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; Dy Registrar Cooperative Societies, Antar Singh; DO NRLM, Javed Ul Sofi;  AD Employment, Rekha Rani; Functional Manager Lead Bank, Ashwini Sharma and other concerned officers.

The concerned officer from NRLM informed that these active self-help groups are involved in different income-generating activities.The future action plan for the SHG formation, SHG Bank Linkages, financial Inclusion, Livelihood activities was also discussed in the meeting. 

The DDC directed the concerned to achieve cent percent saturation in all the verticals of NRLM.The meeting was also informed that 1500 SHGs have been linked with the Banks and an amount of Rs 13 crores has been provided to them as loan during the last financial year.

The Deputy Registrar cooperative was directed to add the beneficiaries of NRLM in the Yuva Sehkar scheme and form cooperatives with NRLM.The DDC stressed upon the officers to ensure that the SHGs make collaborative efforts to diversify the livelihood activities and improve income.He also directed the officers to assist the SHGs in channelizing their efforts in carving out successful businesses.
