The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir today convened a meeting of District Level Committee for Land Conversion (DLCLC) to review the cases pertaining to conversion of agricultural land into non-agriculture purposes.  

As many as 10 cases were put up for discussion; of which 2 cases were approved by the committee while 3 cases were rejected and 5 cases are under process for NOCs from line departments.The DC said that the land conversion issue is among the priorities of the Government. 

He directed the Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR), Kupwara to ensure sensitization of all Tehsildars and subordinate staff about checking land conversion violations if any in the district.He directed the committee members for on spot inspection of the spots and furnish a report to his office within two days. 

It was given out in the meeting that in order to ensure speedy disposal of land conversion cases, weekly meetings shall be convened on every Tuesday in a week.Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Kupwara; Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Kupwara, Tehsildars, Executive Engineers and other concerned attended the meeting.
