Agniveers announced Bharat Bandh with demand for withdrawal of plan:
The anger of the students is visible on the road against the Agniveer scheme of army recruitment. In many states of the country including Bihar, UP, Haryana, Delhi, Jharkhand, youth are protesting on the road. At the same time, students have announced a Bharat Bandh today against the plan. The youth of the country are continuously demanding withdrawal of the scheme.
Priyanka Gandhi appeals to youth to identify fake nationalists:
Students opposing the Agneepath scheme are also getting the support of political parties. Many parties including Congress, Aam Aadmi Party, RJD have opposed the government regarding the scheme. The Congress is holding a satyagraha against the plan at Delhi's Jantar Mantar. Many Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi are involved in the movement. During this, party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi appealed to the youth to identify fake nationalists and asked them to ensure the formation of such a new government in the country.
What's in the scheme & why it is not being appreciated:
The Central Government has started the Agneepath scheme for recruitment in the army, in which youth from 17.5 to 23 years can be recruited. They will be given salary and allowances like other soldiers. Apart from this, other facilities will also be provided. But the students are opposing the reinstatement of 4 years but students are adamant on the demand to withdraw the scheme.
