Chairperson, H.P. Red Cross Hospital Welfare Section and Member National Red Cross Managing Committee, Dr. Sadhna Thakur while presiding over the meeting of State Red Cross Hospital Welfare Section here today said that State Red Cross Society is playing a stellar role in rendering selfless service to every section of the society. She said that Red Cross is a social organization in which the participation of every member is very important. She said that this year the annual Red Cross fair will be organized in the month of September. Apart from various cultural programs, many entertaining programs like fancy dress, dog show, tambola, skill games etc. will be organized in the fair. She said that the Police Band 'Harmony of Pines' would be the main attraction of the Red Cross Fair.
She said that active participation of youth and common people was being ensured in the activities of Red Cross. She said that Red Cross committees would be formed in schools and colleges. Competitions like poster making, essay writing will also be organized for the children. A Run for Red Cross competition would be organized a week before the Red Cross fair, with the objective to create awareness about the activities of Red Cross among all sections of the society.
She said that during the fair, stalls of traditional Himachali delicacies would be set up by the Tourism department and various other delicacies would also be set up by various women's organizations and government departments.She also urged to donate generously towards the Himachal Pradesh Red Cross Hospital Welfare Branch.Honorary Secretary, Hospital Welfare Branch, Dr. Kimi Sood conducted the proceedings of the meeting. State Red Cross Society, Executive Secretary, Sanjeev Kumar, Vice President Madhu Sood and senior officers of various departments and members of Himachal Pradesh State Red Cross Hospital branch were present in the meeting.
