While presiding over the concluding session of two days state-level workshop on "Right to Education Act and National Education Policy" organized by State Commission for Protection of Child Rights at NIT in Hamirpur district, today, the Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar said that every child has the right to quality education and it was our moral responsibility to cooperate in providing this right.He said that the National Education Policy-2020 (NEP) has been prepared with the view to provide quality education to the students. He said that emphasis must be laid on personal development of the student along with infrastructure development. Welcoming the initiative of the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, he said that the future generation need to educate not to be literate, which could not be given within a room. 

Education policy emphasizes in this direction, he added.Shri Arlekar said that no language could be taught on the basis of grammar. A person learns the language only by listening. Therefore, in the National Education Policy, more emphasis has been laid on 'Shruti'. “This education policy needs to be read and suggestions should be invited in this matter. Today, qualitative education is discussed but infrastructure development is not the only quality education”, said the Governor.The Governor said that the right of women's education was in our ancient culture. The standard of education here was very high and it was based on the ‘Gurukul’ system, he added. He said that today's education was being given 'distorted'. He said that a big conspiracy was hatched in the country to destroy the Nationality and the education policy brought by the British was to destroy our nationality."

Today history is changing and the National Education Policy is the result, which is related to the country and culture. If we cannot do anything in this direction, then tomorrow there is no need to blame anyone else”, said Shri Arlekar.He said that it was being implemented in Himachal Pradesh and the government was also taking effective steps in this direction.Earlier, Member, State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Himachal Pradesh Shailendra Behl welcomed the Governor and gave a detailed account of the activities of the Commission. He also gave information about this two-day workshop.NIT Director of Hamirpur Prof. Hiralal Murlidhar Suryavanshi welcomed the Governor.Hamirpur Deputy Commissioner Debsweta Banik, Superintendent of Police Dr. Kritika Sharma, Chairperson of Commission Vandana Yogi, Vidya Bharti, Secretary of North Zone Deshraj and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
