Under the anti-drug drive launched by the Punjab Government and Punjab Police under the supervision of Senior Captain Police Mr. Gulneet Singh Khurana, under the supervision of Mrs. Rupinder Kaur Bhatti, SP-I, Moga under the supervision of Chief Officers of District Police Stations and The CIA staff in charge had dispatched various teams to the area to track down the culprits.Disclosing this here today, Senior Captain of Police Mr. Gulneet Singh Khurana said that a team of Inspector Tarlochan Singh, in-charge CIA staff, Baghapurana patrolled the three accused Jasveer Singh alias Jassi son of Man Singh resident of Shapar District Ludhiana. 

Davinder Singh son of Jagjit Singh Vashi of Shapar district Ludhiana and Sabir Khan son of Nazir Khan resident of Rasulpur police station Ahmedgarh district Malerkotla were arrested along with a Lancer vehicle number PB 10-CH-4800 and 4 kg of opium was recovered from them. A case under PS Act has been registered at Nihal Singh Wala police station. Simultaneously, an accused Balraj Singh son of Iqbal Singh resident of Parwana Nagar, Moga was arrested with a 32 bore pistol, 3 rounds of live ammunition with 32 bores and a Scorpio vehicle and a case has been registered under the Arms Act.

Police recovered 10 grams of heroin and a motorcycle bearing registration number PB 29-AB-5185 from two drug smugglers as part of anti-drug drive. A case has been registered in the police station month under the Act.Kikkar Singh son of Kala Singh resident of Dolewala has recovered 35 liters of liquor and Manjit Singh son of Billu Singh alias Mukand Singh of village Ranta has recovered 115 liters of liquor.

Simultaneously 35 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from village Salina of Sukhchain Singh alias Baba son of Angrej Singh and 12 bottles of liquor were recovered from Gurjant Singh alias Kala son of Roop Singh resident of Khai and cases were registered under Excise Act at Nihal Singh Wala police station.

The senior captain said that a drug help number 75270-00165 was also being run by the Moga police at the district level for the prevention of drugs and for providing any information regarding drugs. He appealed to the general public that if they find out anything about drugs, they can immediately report it to this helpline number, the name and address of the informant will be kept confidential. He said that this would go a long way in nabbing the drug lords in the district.
