The Rayat Bahra University hosted two-day Inter-University Basketball Championship-2022 for boys and girls which saw massive participation from across the state.Gurvinder singh Bahra, Chancellor, Rayat Bahra University, who was the Chief Guest at the inaugural ceremony, conveyed his best wishes to all the teams. He said that sports is the best way to channelize the youth energy in the right direction.Dr Simerjit Kaur was the organizing secretary of the event along with sports team Kulbir Singh, Jaspreet Singh and Gurpreet Singh.
Dr Parvinder Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Rayat Bahra University, said the Rayat Bahra University is committed to inculcate leadership and keeps motivating students to participate in sports activities.Dr. Neeru Malik, Sports professor, Dev Smaj College of Education, Sector-36, Chandigarh was the Guest of Honour at the valedictory ceremony. She shared highly motivational and inspirational stories with the students to motivate them to participate in sports and to be disciplined and focussed towards their goals.
The First Day of the match observed Knockout rounds between teams (Boys and Girls separately). Winning teams entered the Quarterfinal followed by semi-finals. Final match was conducted on the second day of the championship and winners were awarded during valedictory ceremony in the auditorium.In the boys Team, Sports Complex, Mohali, Sector-78 lifted the trophy.In the girls team, Shaheed Kanshi Ram College of physical education, Bhagoo Majra lifted the trophy followed by Rayat Bahra University as runner up team.Winners were awarded with Trophy and certificates on behalf of the Rayat Bahra University.
