Beat the heat with many things. Though summers give us a lot of mangoes and ice creams, this is the time when we sweat through all our pores and wait eagerly for rains to arrive. The summertime in India can be excessive even for the most experienced of us. Besides making us feel tired and zapped, it can even be downright harmful by increasing the risk of heatstroke. So we have prepared on how one can protect themselves in this heat?

5 Things To Do This Summer

  1. Wear Light Colours Clothes

If you love to follow fashion and are a trendy person, then you must have seen that most clothing brands and shops have a collection of pastel colors outfits. Moreover, one must avoid black during summers. Also, wear light, loose-fitting clothes made of cotton or say linen, so that your sweat can evaporate.

  1. Drink Liquid

During the time of summer, one must have a lot of liquids to replace the fluids you lose from sweating. Do not wait until you feel like you need a drink. Thirst is not a reliable sign that your body needs fluids. When you exercise, you should take small sips of liquid rather than large drinks. Water is the best drink to replace lost fluids. So keep yourself hydrated in the summers.

  1. Eat Seasonal Fruits & Vegetables

Fresh or seasonal fruits and vegetables like mangoes, watermelons, cucumbers, and green leafy veggies go a long way in keeping you hydrated and healthy while providing the much-needed vitamins and minerals. These things will also give your hydration levels a boost. Also, avoid eating a lot of spicy junkies like pizza, pasta, and burgers

  1. Apply Sunscreen

Always prefer to apply a good sunscreen, with a high SPF factor, (depending upon the skin type) whenever you plan to go out in the sun to play. Sunscreen may be helpful in protecting you from the harmful rays of the sun. You can also wear hats and shades to protect yourself from direct sunlight.

  1. Move To Lower Floor

It’s a noted fact that if you are living on the top floor then you must shift yourself temporarily to the ground or lower floor. If you're living on a high floor, you should know that hot air rises and cold air settles. So, keep your window shut, and consider it to be your lucky day if your neighbour on the ground floor invites you over for a chilling glass of lemonade.

So, these are some things you should surely notice during summers. And as we all know that the temperature is rising day by day, so don't forget to keep yourself safe and hydrated from the sun.
